Expedition Discovery Kei

I am a psychologist with a background in sociology, human resource management, administration as well as addiction counseling and trauma therapy. Experienced in working as a psychotherapist with individuals and groups, I work in schools and institutions, community-based organizations, health care facilities, correctional facilities and other organizations.I am experienced in working with mental health issues such as addiction, mental/psychiatric disorders, grief and loss, trauma, adolescent issues and stress management among others. I also do psycho-social assessments and help individuals to deal with their day to day issues to ensure general psychological/emotional well-being.

With a great passion for mental health and an interest in promoting mental health by empowering individuals, employees of organizations and society in general on the prevention of mental health issues, I encourage seeking early and appropriate treatment for mental disorders and reduction of stigma related to poor mental health.

I hold an MA in counseling psychology from the USIU-A, a BA in sociology from the University of Nairobi, and certification in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) from EMDR Kenya Trust. I am also an international certified addiction professional I (ICAP I) – Colombo Plan ICCE: I am a member of the Kenya Psychological Association (KPsyA).

At Expedition Discovery, I use my multidisciplinary knowledge and skills to create an environment of psychological and emotional well-being for our clients as they discover and experience the exhilarating beauty of Africa.
