Being born in Africa is a challenge if one does not appreciate what nature brings with it.As a lover of adventure, I have crisscrossed around the continent, climbed up the mountains, trekked down the valleys, swam across rivers and spent nights in the wild.
As a Gold Award holder (President’s Award Scheme), expeditions around Africa have proved one thing: “The beautiful African nature is in itself, medicine for mankind. The beautiful scenery offers relaxation to the real sense of the word and makes one forget all their troubles.
As a qualified and experienced paramedic and wilderness medicine expert, I totally agree. I have responded to many disasters and incidents around Africa and mostly in the wild. Almost everything you need to save a life in Africa’s wild, is provided for by mother nature.
My favourite African proverb:
Three things cause sorrow to flee; water, green trees, and a beautiful face.
