Expedition Discovery Kei

In parallel to my nursing career I have always been involved in holistic health and complementary therapies, gaining accreditation as a qualified reflexologist, remedial masseuse, aromatherapist and yoga teacher. Travelling has been a big part of my life. Working in remote parts of the world with indigenous communities in my early 20’s awakened me to the unique connection between nature and our health.Working in an acute healthcare setting has given me great insight into disease and its management, however my focus now is on the harmonizing of the body and mind to promote vitality and happiness, preventing disease not just treating it.

I run workshops in different countries involving a gentler “restorative” yoga. I understand the value of pranayama (breathing sessions) as well as vinyasa flow yoga when it comes to the restoration of your body, mind and spirit.

I am here to use my knowledge and expertise of health, anatomy and physiology along with my holistic skills to be part of your wonderful journey of discovery into Africa, to a journey into a healthier, happier ‘you’.

I have been in healthcare for the last 30 years, predominantly working as a nurse consultant in several acute hospitals (UK). Along with mandatory qualifications required by registered nurse professionals in the National Health Service (UK), I have a diploma in nursing genetics, diploma in oncology nursing and a MSc in advanced nursing practice from the University of Nottingham (UK), I also hold a qualification that enables me to prescribe medication. My role has also included lecturing at the University of Nottingham along with training many consultants in lower gastrointestinal endoscopy.
